Alexia Zevnik, PT
Registered Physiotherapist
Alexia is a bilingual (French and English) graduate from the University of Ottawa Physiotherapy program where she was awarded the prize for the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy. Through her studies she sparked an interest and passion for the treatment of individuals with neurological conditions. Alexia enjoys working with children and adults alike in order to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Prior to embarking on her journey to becoming a physiotherapist, Alexia was an NCAA athlete and Canadian National team member. The experience she gained as an athlete has crossed over into her work as a physiotherapist. She believes that setting meaningful goals and creating a ‘game plan’ towards attaining them is a valuable tool. She strives to motivate with her clients by creating a team environment in which they are always encouraged to participate in the treatment planning as she believes this is fundamental to the rehabilitation process.
Alexia enjoys using a combination of hands-on treatment and education in order to give her clients the lead role in their rehabilitation process. She is a strong advocate for clients taking an active role throughout this process. By tailoring treatments to a client’s individual needs, she hopes to optimize their function, get them back to participating in the activities they love most, and achieving their goals.
In her spare time, Alexia loves to stay active, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
